A day in the life...

Just another day....with four times the amount of Mountian Dew. It has been an interesting...well while. We are trying to move to St George....or at least to Hurricane/Laverkin. I must have applied to 15 different jobs today alone. It gets a little discouraging when nothing comes back. There are a couple of apartments we could afford, but we have to find jobs in order to keep affording them. *sigh* it's a catch 22.

In the here and now, I'm VERY excited about my new callings. I was called as the RS pianist and Enrichment Leader. I've never done either before so it's all very new and exciting. Today was also interesting because I had WAY too much caffeine. I've been having trouble staying away lately so I've been drinking about 1/2 of a 20 ounce Mountain Dew. Well Dew has three new flavors, and I wanted to try them. They were good. A little to good for me. I drank two 20 ounce bottles. It was a little much, especially since this Dew had Gurana. Yipes. My skin was crawling, and I was a little buzzed. The funniest thing is that I wasn't the only one who did it. One of my friends drank for. Our boss just rolled her eyes and laughed a little bit, because we were all a little cookey. Anyway, Adam didn't like that so I'm forever banned from Mountain Dew. It's probably a good thing because it isn't healthy for me to feel like that. But it was funny. Everyone spent time giggling.

Just a typical day in the life of Christy Gale...

High School Never ends....

The best part of the week....the employee who was trying to get me fired quit. YAY!!!!!! The rest of the week has been pretty awful.

Mom called me early Monday morning to let me know that my dad was in the hospital with chest pains...again. They admitted him because they didn't know what was wrong with him. About fifteen minutes later she called me back to let me know that my grandmother had passed away. It wasn't a shock, we knew it was going to happen, but somehow that wasn't very comforting. The only thing that was comforting is knowing that she would be out of pain, and with grandpa again, so she would be happy.

Dad finally got out of the hospital on Wednesday with an admonition to be more careful (ie no throwing around railroad ties dad.).

Then there is the work drama. I finally know what it's like to be one of the "popular kids" the ones that everybody hated because they were who they were, but you would give your right arm if you could be in their "clique." Well I'm in the clique. I have two really good friends, and we are good at what we do. We rely on each other for help, we are friends and people hate that. I am going crazy but it is what it is. My final word on the subject is kids, grow up and get over it!

Harassment

*sigh* Ok my frusteration can be poured out in a blog. I have been trying to help an agent. I've done everything I could to help him. He pushes and pushes and pushes and does whatever he can to manipulate me to get his way. He left work for over a week now calling in absent, every day. My job is to find out when and if agents are coming back to work. I called him the first day he was absent to tell him he couldn't be absent anymore. I called him again two days ago to tell him that if he didn't bring a doctors note when he came in, I would have to put him on a written warning, and to find out when he would be back to work.

He is now filing a formal complaint that I was "harassing" him. Granted, I know management is on my side, but I feel betrayed. I am frusterated. I was just trying to do my job. He is mad that I'm holding him accountable. I can't stand people who just want the world to bend to their will.

Adam starts his new job on Monday. I am excited. It will be for him to be able to get out of the house. He will be doing tech support for a small company. More later!

TAGGED!

Becky tagged me, so uhhh...I guess I'm it.

What I Think:
I think that people should be kind to one another. I think that employees who are manipulative, and take advantage of my good nature should be fired. I think that I have the most awesome family in the world, both immediate, and extended.

What I Like:

I like to know I have people in my corner. I like to be at home, or out, with my husband. I like to play games and laugh. I like to feel the rain on my face. I like roller coasters and that anxious feeling that you get while you are waiting for them to get going. I love surprises. I like to dance like no one is watching sing like no one can hear. I like to feel the sand between my toes as the oceanic waves splash on my legs. I like to wake up and smell the fresh air. I like to hold hands with my husband and look in his eyes and hear him say that he loves me. I like a lot of things.

What I Know:

That no matter how crappy of a day I've had, I can come home and my husband will snuggle me. I know that my family loves me and supports me. (Thanks guys for the beautiful wedding, I think princess Di would have been jealous!) I know that I belong to the church that has the WHOLE truth, and that my family is a forever family.

What I Want:
I want to be able to sleep through the night, without waking up at 4 AM. I want a bed that both Adam and I fit in. I want my own home, in Southern Utah or Hawaii.

What I see:

I see the three walls of my cubicle, and the employee appreciation certificates. I also see my phone and my ipod speaker...with no ipod attached because someone stole it :(

I am tagging whomever has a desire to share this information.

Calming down

The gifts have stopped coming, I have been at work without missing a day for two weeks, and so I think that things are finally calming down. We love our new apartment and will be sad when we have to leave it in just four three short months. We are looking for something a little bit more permanent, so I can finish up school and Adam can start.

We really like our new ward. Everyone has been very friendly, and I was so grateful for all the help we received moving in. It brought me to tears. They were so willing to drop what they were doing and just help out, even on such short notice.

Knowing that we have a support network, a good support network, makes me so grateful for the the gospel. Speaking of the gospel, I sent Miah a "greenie package" where everything in the package is green. I'm so proud of him. The mission is a hard thing. The MTC is an amazing place and if you could stay there indefinitely, it would be a lot easier. Going from the MTC to the field, is how I would imagine going from the pre-earth life to our current mortal life would feel if we could remember it. Calm, organized everyone working toward the same goal to chaos with a lot more agency, not really knowing what's going on, but trying to do our best to get back to the people we love, and do it with honor.

Now that I've gone off on a random tangent. I actually had an openhouse up here. I did a poor job of letting people know so only three people showed up. I felt bad until I realized that it was my fault for having it in the middle of the week, and not really letting people know. :D I bet I would have had more people come if I'd posted it on my blog!
